The Southern Employee Benefits Conference has changed its name and brand to SBEN, the Southeast Benefits Education Network.

SBEN was founded forty-seven years ago as the Southern Pension Conference amidst rapid change in that industry including the formulation of ERISA. Since that time it has been a leading educational association helping benefits professionals throughout the southeastern United States learn and grow in their careers.

“SBEN has developed over time as the benefits industry has developed from a focus on pensions to a focus on the broad field of employee benefits,” said James Worrell, SBEN President. “Now, we are continuing to develop by providing a more effective network and even more robust programming to meet the changing needs of our members and the rest of the industry.”

In addition to a new website (sben.org) and an expanded annual education conference which now spans two-plus days of educational sessions, SBEN has added multiple other programs in cities throughout the southeast including Atlanta, Birmingham, Greenville and others. SBEN will also be hosting networking functions at various times throughout the year for members to interact and discuss topics that are top of mind for their companies.
